I live with 35 winding wooded miles from Pacific City on the Oregon Coast. On the is morning my dog and Iwere investigating the beach after a stormy night. I was captivated by the look of these dunes. I quickly set up and took a picture, finishing just as my German Shepherd decided to race off onto the dune.
Along the Oregon Coast, i was hoping for a nice sunset. Although that was not to be, there was nice color reflecting off the sand as a small stream made its way to the ocean.
Winter at the coast has its challenges, but also its rewards. If you can be patient, the clouds will sometimes depart for some spectacular sunsets.
Taken along the walk way at Yachats Oregon.
Every February we celebrate our anniversary inlanders Bandon. The stormy weather never disappoints us. This picture was taken shortly before sunset, after a wet and windy day. This image shows Face Rock, which seems to look like a face leaning back in the ocean, catching the last rays of the sun.

Yachats along the Oregon coast is a favorite place of mine. there is always something new to enjoy as the surf churns and brings in interesting pieces of driftwood.

Hume Lake, Sierra Nevada mountains.
I love creeks, and the colors of fall, so this picture is a combination of both. An early fall leaf “sailing” downstream to destinations unknown.
Although this waterfall is quite large, I decided to just get an intimate view of one of the shelves that the water was flowing over.
It was a perfect day for an adventure. My best friend and I decided to head north to Washington, looking for some new places to explore. Fall colors were just starting to peek through the green foliage, when we came to this foot bridge on the Lewsi River. After noticing how still the river was, we climbed down to the water’s edge to enjoy the reflections.
Walking with crutches gave me a chance to slow down and see the unexpected.
Redwoods in Northern California.
Taking a slow hike on crutches brought me to slow study of the natural world.
I titled this image solitude, as that is what I felt watching the early spring warmth cause the rising fog to enclose the landscape around me. It felt as thought it was just the tree and I enjoying the quiet, but as i discovered a few minutes later, I was not alone. When I turned back on the trail I noticed that my tracks in the snow had been stepped on by those of a cougar! Could it have been watching me from being tat oak? I’ll never know.
A crisp winter morning in my backyard in the Oregon coast range.

This image was taken in the high desert of Central Oregon. I love being able to step out into the night sky, and envision what my camera will see in that hazy cloud of stars we call the Milky Way Galaxy. As I press the shutter, it is so quiet I can only heard the distant howl of a coyote.
I took this picture on a very wet winter day in the Oregon Coast Range. This herd of Roosevelt Elk had come down to the creek to drink and were on their way back to the shelter of the woods when I saw them. Because the rain was coming down so hard, this image seems to take on a surreal look.
Spring time in the Willamette Valley of Oregon brings the beauty of flowers.
Dahlia
Black and White
Too bad this is not a scratch and sniff, as the fragrance of this Day Lily, was intoxicating.
We were visiting Garnet Ghost town, a 1980’s gold mining community in Montana, and I had just stepped into the Historic Kelly’s Saloon when this image welcomed me at the entrance. This building was built in 1898. I love to ponder what stories this room could tell and I hope it will stir your imagination as well.
